Although I knew it was coming, and that it was the right decision to keep us all safe, my heart sank when the official announcement was made that schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year. I am sad for our children. Our students hold such a huge place in our hearts. We are deeply missing all of you. We have all felt comfort, so much joy and hope each day when we log on for our virtual classes, and see our team, friends, our TDF family. We are so thankful that you have been so flexible, making safe spaces in your homes for the children to continue their love of dance.
The Dance Factory building may be closed, but dance classes will continue to go on strong thru TDF Live. We are grateful for our team at TDF for all the exciting classes being held. We hope that by keeping things rolling forward, best we can, it will help our students keep some normalcy in their lives. We continue to work hard everyday to make a difference in our students lives. We will remain motivated, passionate, and inspired to continue to nurture our dancers during these tough times. At this time, through our screens, it’s not just about the technique training, it’s about our spirit and positive impact on each other. We’re discovering small break through moments with our students each day. We are here to help create passionate kids, who are focused on something they care about, who have learned how to balance their school work with there commitment to dance, who have learned to work as a team. Dedicated kids who will become dedicated adults. Dance is a gift. We are all so lucky to have healthy bodies, be able to connect, and dance together, through a virtual program. Bringing our TDF family together. We plan to continue with TDF Live for the month of May. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support, your dancers participation in TDF Live is keeping our studio afloat until we are able to open our doors again.
We’re still alive with our hope. We are discussing all options for a year end celebration. We don’t know what’s going to happen in four or six weeks. But, I know that when we go back, I am going to be a lot more grateful for the gift of dance and our TDF community. Going through this process is going to make us so proud of our kids. This dance thing is our bond, and we will lift each other up on the other side of this.
