Ballet is a highly technical form of dance and defines the foundational techniques used in many other dancegenres. Ballet requires discipline and much practice to retain proficiency.
Ballet has served The Dance Factory and its students very well as the foundation of all dance training at the school. If you dislike ballet or do not appreciate its value to all dance forms this program may not be for you.
Dancer's interested in our studio are welcome to come participate complimentary in one of our ballet classes for level placement into our program. This unique opportunity allows our faculty to observe the student to better provide you with a schedule of classes at our studio that would well suit the dancer.
Once placed into our program at TDF, dancer's will training will begin and the amount of hours he or she will have ballet will be based on their level. Opportunities are available for advanced students at The Dance Factory to train in the ballet discipline up to 6 hours a week.
If a dancer has previous experience on pointe, she may bring her shoes to the class for evaluation.
As a respect to all dance forms, each dancer is expected to dress the part. We expect female dancers to wear pink tights, a one-piece black leotard, and their hair in a bun for every ballet class. Male dancers should wear tights (preferred) or black shorts and a white leotard, tank or
t-shirt for ballet class.
Dancers must enter the classroom without a parent. Only registered dancers are allowed in any classroom during level placement.
Respect for fellow students, faculty, and staff, as well as our facilities, is expected at all times. Any breach of this policy will result in immediate dismissal from the program.
