BACKSTAGE DANCE MOMS
Dear Backstage Moms,
Thank you so much for accepting to be a Backstage Mom for this year's Recital Showcase. Understanding that there will be stress for any fast pace performance, TDF would like to make this as stress free as possible. This is why we've put this list together to help you make the backstage environment enjoyable for all the dancers and to keep things organized throughout the show. Staff will be available to assist you.
THINGS TO BRING:
* Comforter or old blanket for your group to sit on in between dance numbers - the floor is dirty back stage.
* Safety pins, hairpins, a small sewing kit with scissors. If you have younger dancers, some paper, crayons, coloring sheets, or other non-messy activities (no markers). Markers and costumes do not mix.
* Ideally, bottles of water with pull-up lids only. NO JUICE, POP, GATORADE, ETC!
* A marker or pen for yourself to help mark names on water and other items. Things do get mixed up with one another.
* If you would like, you can bring plain crackers or pretzels for the dancers to snack on in between dances. Please clean up mess with the snacks.
* Extra make-up and matching lipstick color NYC 405 Blue Rose, NYC 319 Violet Shine and L’Oréal “True Red”. If the dancer does not have enough make-up on, please ask the child’s parent before you add more make up.
NO GUM OR CANDY ALLOWED ON STAGE OR BACKSTAGE AT ANY TIME!
REMINDERS:
* NO undergarments - Panties will show up under costumes.
* Check with the class teacher to find out what props, if any, for each dance number.
* All dancers must wear a cover up, preferably a robe that they have decorated for our TDF Robe Contest, in between dance numbers.
* Please keep your group together so that they can be reached when needed.
* When backstage, please have your group quite and out of the traffic area; we will be trying to get dancers to where they need to be.
* If a child is acting up backstage and the backstage helper cannot handle the child, the parent will be called backstage to help with the situation. We need to try and do everything possible before we contact the parent.
* Make sure that all girls have used the bathroom, if needed.
* Keep your lines up against the walls in the hallways.
* Once your group is finished dancing, please return backstage.
* After finale and awards, backstage moms will gather their dancers and have the dancer pick up their belongings (costumes bags, etc.) backstage.
* Children cannot run anywhere at any time, including after recital backstage or on stage.
* No running at any time!!!
* All groups must stay together until dismissed.
DO NOT ALLOW FOODS OR DRINKS ANYWHERE BUT THE LOBBY OR OUTSIDE!!!
Stain free snacks and water are permitted backstage. Absolutely NO PEANUT PRODUCTS!!!!
* Keep your make-up nice and neat by placing all of the essential items in a separate bag or caboodle.

• Lip Liner and Lip Stick
• Q -Tips
• Makeup Removal Wipes
• Tissues
• A towel to put on the floor
